Katherine Agong
Katherine Agong is lead Transportation Planner and Transportation Engineer. She helps public and private sector organisations by applying techniques for analysing and resolving traffic and transport problems. Katherine is a graduate of Edinburgh Napier University where she attained a Masters degree (MSc) in Transport Planning & Engineering. She is a Chartered Transport Planning Professional (UK) and she was the first woman in Wales to do so in 2007. She is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) (UK). She graduated from the University of the West Indies with an honours degree (BSc) double majoring in Geography and Geology.
Katherine has worked for over 20 years in the Transportation Engineering and Transportation Planning sector. After a successful career being employed at major global consultancies helping private sector clients (e.g. land developers, estate managers, universities, construction firms, hospitals) and public sector clients such as government organisations and local authorities. Katherine is also a Research Assistant in the University of the West Indies Department of Civil and Engineering and PhD researcher in the field of shared mobility, informal transport in the urban environment with a keen interest on how transport policy affects women, health and persons with disabilities.
Katherine enjoys voluntary and advocacy work for persons with disabilities and specific disenfranchised communities, and she also enjoys the art of decorative design.
